  • Boone’s – Boone’s is serving a special NYE menu.
  • Central Provisions – 6-course dinner, $150.
  • Chaval – 3-course dinner, $55.
  • Drifters Wife – 5-course dinner, $55.
  • Evo – 6-course, $110.
  • Five Fifty-Five – 4-course menu, $90; 7-course menu, $125.
  • Flood’s – open with an augmented menu until 10, followed by a dance party 10-1.
  • Hugo’s – 8-course dinner, $90 per person.
  • Isa – prix fixe menu, $65.
  • Leeward x Little Giant – Chefs from Little Giant and Leeward are collaborating on the menu, $65. You can make reservations through Little Giant.
  • Maiz – 3-course dinner, $45. An after-party $10 in advance ($15 at the door).
  • Old Port Sea Grill – 5-course dinner, $65.

Friday – Chris Wilcox will hold a Judy Gibson pop-up dinner at Hugo’s.

Saturday – the first New Foodways Celebration Dinner will take place, Chris Wilcox will hold a Judy Gibson pop-up dinner at Hugo’s, and the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

New Year’s Eve 2019 (Updated)

It’s coming together a little later than usual, but here’s a down payment on the New Year’s Eve list. If you know of any restaurants that have something special planned for NYE, please share the details in the comments and I’ll add them to the growing list.

MondayLorne and Elda are collaborating on a 5-course holiday dinner with wine, beer and cider pairings.

Wednesday – the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting Erin French from The Lost Kitchen for an on stage conversation at Aura.

Thursday – Bartender Crystal Pomerleau will be teaching a mixology class at Three of Strong.

Saturday – the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Judy Gibson Pop-upsChris Wilcox, the chef who is launching Judy Gibson in South Portland, has announced the details for a series of three pop-up dinners taking place January 2, 3, and 4 at Hugo’s. Bar Madness Cocktail Competition

The Old Port Sea Grill is organizing Bar Madness—a cocktail competition among Maine bartenders. The bartender with the top cocktail wins an “all-expense paid trip for 2 to Chicago to experience a 7-Course Tasting Experience with cocktail pairings in the kitchen of The Aviary.”

Wednesday – Evo is hosting Cocktail for a Cause as a benefit for the Animal Refuge League, and Luke’s is marking the opening of scallop season with a special “meet the fleet” scallop tasting event.

Thursday – Authors Margaret Hathaway and Karl Schatz will be speaking at the Jewish Community Alliance about their book The New Portland, Maine Chef’s Table.

Saturday – the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Erin French – Erin French, chef/owner of The Lost Kitchen will be in Portland on December 18th on stage at Aura for a conversation with Chamber CEO Quincy Hentzel “about the journey of creating The Lost Kitchen, the many talented hands involved, and why we feel such a pull toward the lifestyle of genuine human connection that The Lost Kitchen provides.” Online Registration.
