Here’s the start of the 2025 Maine Thanksgiving List of holiday dinners, community meals, and take out options ranging from singles dishes and baked goods to entire meals to enjoy at home. We’re adding to the list as businesses and organizations publish details on their plans.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES
- The Good Shepherd Food Bank plays an integral role in distributing food during Thanksgiving and all year round in Maine. See their website for information where to find food through their partner agencies in Maine or to make a donation.
- Wayside Food Programs is producing Thanksgiving meals to go, and boxes that contain the ingredients to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner at home (frozen turkey, a pie, squash, potatoes, butter, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, cranberry sauce, stuffing & gravy). Anyone interested in either option should call (207) 775-4939 to register for one by November 17th. You can make a donation to Wayside on their website. There’s also conducting a Thanksgiving food drive.
- Dandelion Catering (Yarmouth) – is taking nominations for families to receive a free Thanksgiving meal.
- Amandine Bakery (Searsport) – will be preparing a 100 Thanksgiving to go meals in portioned for both individuals and families available to people in need.
- Boys & Girls Club of Kennebec Valley (Gardiner) – will be holding a free Thanksgiving dinner.
- Bridgton Alliance Church (Bridgton) – will be holding their 5th annual free Thanksgiving dinner.
- Chebeague Community Kitchen (Chebeague Island) – is preparing free Thanksgiving dinners for two; available to pick-up on November 26th. Delivery also available.
- Church of the Good Shepherd (Rangeley) – will be holding their 43rd Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner; walk-ins are welcome but they’d appreciate if you contact them ahead to reserve a spot.
- Community Harvest (Kennebunk) – will be holding a free Thanksgiving dinner at Saint Martha’s Church in Kennebunk. In addition to serving the meal at the church, it can also be delivered. Visit the Community Harvest site to register for the meal or arrange a delivery.
- Dexter VFW (Dexter) – will be holding their 9th Annual Thanksgiving Meal which is free and open to the public.
- Dolce Amici (Norway) – will be distributing free Thanksgiving meals to those in need.
- Duck Pond Variety (Windham) – will be providing free take home Thanksgiving dinners.
- Equality Community Center (Portland) – working in collaboration with the South Portland Food Cupboard, the ECC will have available a range of food for making a Thanksgiving meal available for pick-up at their location on Casco Street on November 24th.
- Ecumenical Food Pantry of Lincoln County – will be distributing Thanksgiving food baskets to people in need; deadline yo sign-up is November 6th.
- Freeport Community Services (Freeport) – will be serving a Thanksgiving dinner and distributing food boxes to those in need and delivering Thanksgiving dinner to folks who cannot make it to the Community Center.
- Gorham Sand and Gravel (Buxton) – will be giving out 10 turkeys and 10 hams to people in need; contact them by November 17th to sign-up.
- Hailey’s Kitchen (Windham) – will be providing Thanksgiving dinners to people in need.
- House in the Woods (Lee) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner; they encourage reservations and looking for volunteers to help.
- Knights of Columbus (Biddeford) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner at the Most Holy Trinity Church Hall in Saco. Meals are also available to take home.
- Lincoln County Assembly of God (Damariscotta) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner.
- Madison VFW (Madison) – will be serving a Thanksgiving dinner.
- Most Holy Trinity Church (Saco) – will be holding the 26th Annual Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
- Naples Grange Hall (Naples) – three local business are sponsoring an effort to distribute free Thanksgiving dinners.
- Reshine (Cherryfield) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving lunch.
- R.L. Mercantile & Trading Post (Vassalboro) – will be providing Thanksgiving Boxes with all the ingredients to cook a meal at home. They’re also accepting donations of food and funds so they can help more families this year.
- Saint Catherine of Sienna Church (Norway) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner.
- Saint Joseph’s College (Standish) – will be distributing Thanksgiving food boxes; sign-up deadline is November 10th.
- Saint Mary of the Visitation Church (Houlton) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner which is also available for takeout.
- Scarborough Community Dinner – will be holding the 10th annual Thanksgiving dinner. They welcome walk-ins but for planning purposes it is helpful is people register in advance. You can make a donation to support the dinner online.
- Skip’s Lounge (Buxton) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner.
- Stroudwater Food Pantry (Portland) – will be distributing Thanksgiving food boxes, and accepting donations to support this effort.
- Summit Community Church (Gorham) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner. Register online to attend.
- Taj (South Portland) – will be providing free meals on Thanksgiving day. Email them at tajholidaymeals@gmail.com to sign-up.
- The Greenery Cafe (Ogunquit) – will be providing free Thanksgiving dinners to anyone who receives SNAP benefits.
- The Root Cellar (Lewiston and Portland) – will be distributing Thanksgiving food baskets and taking donations to support that effort.
- The Solon Hotel (Solon) – will be distributing free take-out Thanksgiving dinners for pick-up on the day before the holiday. You just need to sign-up with the hotel ahead of time. The hotel is also taking donations of non-perishable food, hygiene and house supplies for distribution to community members in need too.
- Tulsi (Kittery) – will be serving dinner and anyone in need is welcome to enjoy a free meal, and “100% of the proceeds will be donated to local organizations supporting those in need.”
- Waco Diner (Eastport) – will be serving a free Thanksgiving dinner; reservation required.

- Alto Terrace Bar + Kitchen (Portland) – will be serving a Thanksgiving brunch.

- City Farmhouse (South Portland) – the restaurant at Sable Oaks Sheraton is serving a Thanksgiving buffet midday, and a Thanksgiving dinner in the evening. The buffet is $55 per person with a 10% discount for senior citizens, and $27 for children under 12.
