Monday – Maine Restaurant Week continues.

Tuesday – Elise Miller, a butcher at Rosemont, will be competing on Chopped at 9 pm.

Wednesday – the 1st floor of N To Tail will open. The downstairs space opened as a Korean BBQ and sake/soju bar in December. The final renovations are now complete and the first floor will serve a “unique Korean Fusion menu with popular dishes such as Bibimbap and Poke”.

Thursday – there will be a wine tasting at Maine & Loire.

Friday – Vignola is holding a wine dinner featuring wines from Corte alla Flora, and there will be a wine tasting at the Brighton Ave Rosemont.

Saturday – Hi Bar Bakery  is holding a brunch pop-up at Fork Food Lab, and the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Sunday – The Lost Kitchen will be announcing their method for accepting reservation requests for the 2019 season; check back here on Sunday and I’ll publish the details. Maine Restaurant Week is holding their (sold out) Spirit Quest event.

The 2019 edition of Portland Wine Week (website, facebook, instagram, twitter) is scheduled to take place June 17 – 23.

Fifteen events are already on the schedule with new ones being added as details are locked in. They include a pasta making and wine pairing class at Solo Italiano, a rosé and tapas dinner at Sur Lie, a Wine Wise sails in Casco Bay featuring brunch by chef Ilma Lopez from Chaval and Piccolo, a curated Women Winemakers wine list at Central Provisions; and Bivalves & Bubbles at The Shop.

In addition to the wine dinners, classes, tasting events, seminars and other sessions that made last year’s PWW  a success the 2019 festival will  include a Women in Wine track which will have “special event programming that highlights dozens of female wine makers, sommeliers, and wine industry leaders.”

Last year 46 local restaurants participated Wine Week which in over 50 events in the seven-day schedule.

Tuesday – Chef Paolo Laboa from Solo Italiano will be teaching a sold out pasta making class.

Wednesday – The semifinalist list for this year’s James Beard Awards are due out; check back here midday for a full list of the Maine chefs and restaurants that were included. Andrew and Briana Volk will be speaking at the Public Library about their book Northern Hospitality.

Thursday – The Maine Restaurant Week Incredible Breakfast Cook-off competition takes place, Liquid Riot is hosting chefs from 6 restaurants for a Chicken Wing Challenge, and Maine & Loire is holding a Women Winemakers wine tasting.

Friday – Both Three Dollar Deweys and Giant are opening on e Friday. It’s the first full day of  this year’s Maine Restaurant Week. The New England Craft Brew Summit is taking place, and Giant is holding a wine tasting.

Saturday – the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Wednesday – Eaux, Good Fire Brewing and Mr. Tuna are collaborating on a Prohibition-themed dinner.

Thursday – This month’s edition of the Bibliophile Adventurer’s Supper Club will be at Schulte & Herr.

Friday – Solo Italiano and Allagash are teaming up to put on a special menu with matched beer pairings.

Saturday – Swallowtail Farm is serving a 4-course Polish dinner, there will be a wine tasting at Browne Trading, and the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Sunday – Cong Tu Bot is hosting a Queer Soup Night.

Monday – Rosemont Market is opening their new store in Falmouth today. Chef Krista Kern Desjarlais is the subject of a segment on the show 207 airing today at 7pm on Channel 6 in Portland and Channel 2 in Bangor.

Tuesday – the February edition of Hush Hush is taking place.

Wednesday – Sur Lie and the Portland Chamber Music Festival are collaborating on a sold out salon series dinner, and there will be a wine tasting at the RSVP.

Thursday – A little holiday called Valentines Day is taking place. Consult the social media accounts for your favorite restaurants for V-Day special events.

Friday – Black Tie is holding a Graze farm dinner is taking place in Yarmouth, and there will be a wine tasting at the new Rosemont Market in Falmouth.

Saturday – the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Saturday – there will be a wine tasting at LeRoux Kitchen, Tipo is holding a Winter Carnival all day with a cocktail ice luge, hot chocolate and more. The Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Walkers Maine – Chef Justin Walker will be teaching a set of cooking classes starting in March. The series kicks-off March 24th with a class on Hearth Cooking.

Tuesday – Two Fat Cats is kicking off their 2-day pie buffet in honor of National Pie Day (January 23rd). The next dinner in the Leeward series is taking place at The Honey Paw.

Wednesday – Evo is holding a 3-course cocktail dinner, and there will be a tasting at Old Port Wine Merchants.

Thursday – Bao Bao is hosting Maine Mead Works for a tap takeover.

Friday – Black Tie is holding a Graze Dinner in Yarmouth.

Saturday – Novare Res is holding a launch party for Hermit Thrush, and the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Sunday – Liquid Riot is holding the first of their Back Door Dinner series, and The Good Table is holding a Maine Honey and Wine Dinner.
