According to an article in today’s Portland Daily Sun, Mike Fink owner Mike’s sandwich shop on Congress has decided to close the eatery due to ongoing protests going on nearby.
Update: the Press Herald has published an article about plans to sell or close Mike’s, as has the Bangor Daily News.
That block was historically been lousy business wise for eateries. I think Foley’s Bakery was the last successful enterprise on that block and that would be nearly twenty years ago.
And I will note the protests only take place on Fridays for about three hours.
so sad! will miss getting lunch there weekly!
