A new bar called the Exchange Street Club is under development at 10 Exchange in the space formerly occupied by Movies on Exchange and The Purple Caterpillar.
Owners Mark Deane and Amara El plan to open early next year. Deane is also owner of Rosie’s, Mark’s Place, Pearl, Mark’s Sports Bar and the Old Port Slice Bar.
It’s obviously working for him, but I would love it if the concept is not just $.99 miller high life, $3 Bacardi drinks, and probably cheap Jaegermeister shots like all of his other establishments. I was a broke college kid once too, but do we really need 6 places like that in such a small radius? Guess we’ll find out if it works.
