The Farmer's Table Review

The Farmer’s Table received 4 stars in this week’s Taste and Tell review from the Maine Sunday Telegram.

The simplest things can be the hardest to accomplish.

A bowl of perfectly cooked fresh mussels, juicy roasted chicken, a cup of espresso and semifreddo or half-frozen chocolate terrine are all good examples of basic pleasures you can enjoy at the Farmer’s Table in Portland.

  1. I had one of the worst experiences imaginable there… Nobody to greet our party of 3 until 10 minutes after we were seated. Another 5-10 minutes for a drink when it wasn’t busy, and then we decided we wouldn’t have a meal there because of our prior frustration. I’ll pass every time.

  2. Same here. There was nothing reminiscent of anything from a farm. In fact, I saw the sysco truck delivering to them. Bad bread, butter in packets, horrible service, cold food…..aaaaugh! Why? When I asked the waitress which farms they use, she said, “None.”……..
