Review of The Porthole

The Golden Dish has published a review of The Porthole.

In daylight or dark, this little square wood-frame building looks like it’s on the verge of collapse. But that would be a shame because it’s a lovable old spot, offering a sense of place, pretty good food, and a welcome respite from otherwise precious dining alternatives elsewhere in the city.

  1. The Porthole’s best feature is really its location! Old wharf diner feel inside and sunny deck seating by the water outside. The service is OK (if you can manage to signal to a host in under 5 minutes to be seated when you enter) and the food is OK (sometimes too greasy). I think their best meal is breakfast and especially the EGGS FLORENTINE smothered in a delicious smoky bacon cream sauce – OMG! That’s my only reason to go there.
