The Northeast Aquaculture Conference is taking place at the Eastland Park Hotel Wednesday through Friday. On Monday the next Piatto per Tutti cooking class is being held. Wednesday there is a chocolate tasting at Whole Foods. Whole Foods is also teaching a sushi making class on Thursday. Thursday night The Great Lost Bear is showcasing the beer of Shipyard Brewing. There are wine tastings scheduled this week at West End Deli on Friday and Leroux Kitchen on Saturday. Forgot to defrost the turkey or burnt it to a crisp or just don’t wan’t to cook? You have a few options for going out for a Thanksgiving dinner. In Portland, Eve’s at the Garden, Zackery’s and Verrillo’s are all serving turkey dinners. The Black Point Inn in Scarborough and the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth are also offering Thanksgiving dinners.

There’s a last minute addtion to the calendar for tonight. The South Portland Historical Society will host a program called “The Sardine Industry of Portland and South Portland in the 1900s.” They’ll be showing a documentary film and then will have an open discussion “among participants who either worked in, or lived near, the local sardine factories”. The event takes place at the South Portland City Hall tonight at 6:30.

Gabe Rucker, Chef at Le Pigeon in the other Portland, is cooking a 7 course meal at Five Fifty-Five with Steve Corry Monday night. Also on Monday the Slow Food Portland Book Club is meeting to discuss Molecular Gastronomy, and the next Piatto per Tutti cooking class is taking place. On Tuesday Bar Lola is holding a Rioja Wine Dinner and Evangeline is holding a Harvest Dinner. Tuesday night is the premiere of the Maine episode of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. There are four wine tastings scheduled this week: Old Port Wine Merchants on Wednesday, Leavitt and Sons on Thursday, Rosemont on Friday, and Kitchen & Cork on Saturday. This Sunday Hugo’s is holding their 8th Annual Potato Dinner, a 7 course meal featuring Maine grown potatos and other root vegetables.

The next Piatto per Tutti cooking class is taking place on Monday. There are a pair of events for beer fans taking place on Tuesday. Novare Res is holding a Trappist beer tasting and Bar Lola is holding a beer dinner. There will be a wine tasting at RSVP on Wednesday and a wine and cheese tasting at Public Market House on Thursday. Thursday night The Great Lost Bear is showcasing the beer of Cape Ann Brewing. Thursday through Saturday there’s a pre fixe truffle dinner on the menu at Cinque Terre. The last regularly scheduled Farmers’ Markets of the year are taking place in Monument Square on Wednesday and at Deering Oaks Park on Saturday.
