Welcome to the July edition of the Portland Food M Welcome to the July edition of the Portland Food Map “Date Night” raffle sponsored by Evergreen Credit Union (@evergreen_credit_union). PFM and Evergreen are proud to continue supporting our local restaurants as they adapt to the current economic situation. For now, this monthly raffle will change to reflect the current Portland dining environment. The “Date Night” raffle now features five (5) winners. Each winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to be used at any local restaurant offering delivery, onsite dining and food to go. Simply comment on this Instagram image and tag a friend (or, two, or three...), and you’re entered to win. Note that our usual raffle co-sponsors Portland Sea Dogs (@portland_seadogs) and Portland Museum of Art (@portlandmuseum) will rejoin our raffle in the future. Buoyed by an interest in local food, gluten-free e Buoyed by an interest in local food, gluten-free eating, and the ongoing enthusiasm for heirloom apples, the last few years have seen significant growth in Maine cider industry. There are now 17 cider makers in Maine with at least four more producers under development. Additionally, in 2019 two dedicated cider bars – @perennialciderbar in Belfast and @anoche.portland in Portland – opened for business. With all of that in mind, I’ve put together a Guide to Maine Cider to provide a resource for me and my fellow cider enthusiasts to the producers, cider bars, bottle shops and events that are part of the emergent cider community in Maine.
