Instagram post 2188811962710894582_245874381 Back from Thanksgiving with family, I had a delicious hummus lunch at @nuraportland. Shown here are the hummus bowl with beets, hazelnuts and parsley, shawarma fries, and the hummus with avocado, pine nuts, zhug and cilantro. #portlandmaine #nura #hummus #hummusbowl #shawarmafries #zhug

Instagram post 2184229814808890654_245874381 I’m just back from a 2-week trip to Peru and wanted to share some images of the wonderful natural beauty, culture, people and, of course, food I encountered there. These pictures just scratch the surface of what was an action packed visit. It’s a wonderful country and if you get the chance I’d recommend you check it out.
Here is what’s pictured: Lunch at @isolinataberna, an in-home ceviche making class, a 16-course dinner at @centralrest (including piranha), a macchiato at @pukupukucafe, a fruit street vendor, the amazing produce at Surquillo Mercado, the coffee bar at @colonia.and.co in Barranco, lunch at @meritorest, a cook at @colonia.and.co, and a visit to @tacama_oficial South America’s oldest winery (they also distill Pisco). #foodmaptravels #peruvianfood #crispypork #ceviche

Here is what’s pictured: the steep winding streets of the former Incan capitol of Cusco, a weaver at @awanakancha, the dunes at #huacachina, sunrise at Machu Picchu sporting a very well travelled Portland Food Map t-shirt, street art in Lima, the ruins and natural beauty of #ollantaytambo, a doorway in Lima, one of the many many cute friendly dogs I encountered in the streets in Peru, a stairway in Miraflores, take off on the return flight home from Cusco. #limaperu #machupicchu #smallcitybigappetite #foodmaptravels
