The sunny weather yesterday made for a good day to explore some new spots and get in some shopping. Starting with a visit to the @moondaycoffee espresso coffee cart (1st photo) which has been popping up (pop-upping?) indoors at the @taprootmag retail shop (2nd photo) on Fox Street. The smoked wings and a salad from @df.friteshack (3rd photo and 4th photos) and a Buckwild beer from @oxbowbrewingcompany made for a great lunch. The day concluded with some Christmas shopping at @strataportland followed by a first visit to the cafe at the @washingtonbaths for cake a hot lemon ginger drink (5th and 6th photos) and a visit to @onggiferments. It seems like there’s always something new to check out over in East Bayside and along Washington Ave. #portlandmaine #innerwashingtonave #eastbayside

A new restaurant called Lenora (@lenoramaine) is under construction at 2 Portland Square in the space formerly occupied by Walter's. Lenora will be a taco bar focusing on Mexican-inspired street food.
Rian and Jen Wyllie will be working with former partners Aaron Sanders and Max Toste from Lone Star Taco Bar and Deep Ellum in Boston. The Wyllie's have been part of the Portland restaurant community since they moved to Maine in 2017. Rian Wylie is currently the chef at Maine Beer Company in Freeport, and was formerly the chef/partner of Lone Star and Deep Ellum.
The team anticipates opening Lenora this coming summer.

@tacotriosopo quietly opened their new South Portl

@tacotriosopo quietly opened their new South Portland location yesterday. The new 90-seat Taco Trio is located at 60 Ocean Street just a few blocks away from the original location at the Knightville rotary.
The restaurant initially will serve the same menu (tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, sopes, tamales, etc) and will expand over time. They also hope to eventually hold food events to showcase the food and drink culture of Mexico.
New to this location will be a 15-seat bar and cocktail program. The bar will showcase agave-based spirits. The house cocktail list includes items like Sunset in Mexico (Azteca Azul Reposado tequila with butterfly peaflower and lemonade, and the Matador Norteña (Pizcadores Sotol, pineapple and lemon juice with agave and habenero). Flights of agave spirits are also available.
Taco Trio expects to open today at 4 pm. Their regular hours will be Tuesday through Saturday 11 am to 9 pm.
