The 32nd Annual Chocolate Lovers’ Fling is taking place this Sunday at the Sable Oaks Marriott in South Portland.

Monday – Good Wine for a Good Cause is taking place at Grace.

Tuesday – Ilam Lopez and Damian Sansonetti from Piccolo/Chaval, Chris and Paige Gould from Central Provisions/Tipo, and Danielle and Justin Walker from Walkers Maine will be collaborating on a dinner at the Beard House in NYC.

Wednesday – the Tipo guest chef pizza series gets off to start with a pizza designed by chef Courtney Loreg from Woodford F & B.

Thursday – Andrew Chadwick from the Sea Glass at Inn is the guest chef at a dinner at the Beard House in NYC, there will be a single screening of Eating You Alive at Cinemagic in Westbrook, and The Great Lost Bear will be showcasing beer from Hidden Cove Brewing.

Friday – there will be a wine tasting at the West End Rosemont, and First Friday Art Walk is taking place.

Saturday – Novare Res will have 30+ Allagash beers on tap for their annual Gasharoo, and the Winter Farmers’ Market is taking place.

Saturday – LB Kitchen is hosting a Northern Thai dinner with chef Matt Towle and Paige McGuinness.

Chef Rob Evans will be preparing a Fire & Fowl dinner on May 6th at the new Duckfat Beer Garden collaboration with Oxbow Brewing. The dinner is a benefit for Full Plates Full Potential.

Join us for an evening of culinary and brewed delights celebrating a feast of seasonal flavors. Chef Rob Evans with his expert team at Duckfat, alongside the master craft brewers of Oxbow Blending & Bottling, and local fisherpeople, farmers and foragers come together to create a menu featuring the earthy bounty of spring in Maine. Tipo is launching a guest chef pizza series during April and May. Each Wednesday night for the next two months Tipo will be selling a custom pie designed by a local chef:

• May 16 – Mike Wiley & Chef Andrew Taylor, Hugo’s/Eventide/Honey Paw

• May 30 – Jason Loring, Nosh/Hunker Down

A few years ago Blue Rooster did something similar with guest chef designed hot dogs, and a food blogger named Chubby Werewolf stepped up to write a review of each week’s special. I wonder who will be game for writing about all 9 of the pies in this series.

This year’s Fabulous Femmes dinner is scheduled to take place on April 22nd at Chaval and tickets are now available online. The benefit dinner for the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital is a collaboration of among an all female line-up of many of Maine’s most outstanding culinary talents:

Wednesday – The James Beard Foundation will be releasing the list of nominees for this year’s awards – here’s the list of 11 Maine semifinalists that was made public in February. Check back mid-day to  see who made the cut. Sam Hayward, Ilma Lopez, Sara Jenkins, Paolo Laboa and Troy Mains will be the featured chefs at the 17th Annual PSO Wine Dinner.

Friday – There will be a wine tasting at Rosemont on Congress Street.
