Richard’s in Brunswick is my go-to German place… so far. Portland is overdue for this.

We had a late lunch there today and it was so yummy.
The beer braised beef sandwich rocked my world.

Run, don’t walk. Just had the potato pancakes w/ gravlax, the braised beef sandwich and the goulash. All excellent.

Just tried it and yeah, it’s cool. Location leaves to be desired but the home-cooked food is top notch.

Wow! What a great restaurant. Real German food. All home made, even the bread. We had the Spaetzle and the sliced beef sandwich. Superb quality; excellent blend of flavors. They actually tell you that the Spaetzle includes Emmenthal cheese, not just Swiss. The beef sandwich was cooked in dark beer and is wonderful.
My wife had the vanilla custard with pumpkin maple syrup compote. Delicious.
Can’t wait to try breakfast.
