As the year is winding to a close here’s some final good news for the Portland restaurant scene in 2018.
Palace Diner co-owner Greg Mitchell has leased 747 Congress Street, the former Bolster Snow in The Francis across the street from Tandem Bakery, where he plans on opening a new restaurant this Spring.
Mitchell is still refining the concept (no, it’s not a Portland edition of Palace Diner) for the restaurant, which he’ll share along with the restaurant’s name at a later date.
Unlike Bolster Snow, the entrance for the restaurant will be straight into the dining room (door on the right in the picture above). The kitchen was already fully built for BSC, so Mitchell will be focus his attention on all the other things needed to launch a successful restaurant in Portland, including changes on the design of the dining room.
