Gritty's was opened in 1988 by Richard Pfeffer,
Ed Stebbins, William Stebbins, and Jon Soule.
The brewpub is very popular among locals and
tourists. Lonely Planet put Gritty's on their list of the best local brewpubs in the
nation.
