Chef Sam Hayward and the cooking
staff at Fore Street excel at using the very best ingredients
available and preparing them in a simple manner. Chef Hayward won
the Best Chef Northeast award from the James Beard Foundation in
2004 and the restaurant was a nominee in the Outstanding Restaurant
category in 2009.
The menu is always changing to reflect what's
available in season. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't publish
it online. One item that seems to always be on tap are the mussels
which are outstanding. Even if you don't have time for dinner, it's
well worth stopping by just for some mussels and a glass of wine in
Fore Street's casual lounge area. The excellent desserts are
compelling reason to visit Fore Street.
