Evangeline Rating Scale

Evangeline went out of business November 15, 2010.
I've had the pleasure of going to Evangeline's Monday night prix fixe dinners several times. On our first visit, one of my dining companions remarked, "This could become habit forming," and indeed it is. Monday nights are my favorite time to dine at Evangeline.
For more information about the restaurant, read this detailed profile from Chow Maine or this behind the scenes look at opening night from Maine Home + Design, or the restaurant's blog. Stephen Quirk has taken some excellent photos of chef Desjarlais at work as part of the Kitchen Project photography series.
After a visit to Portland in 2008 Michael Bauer, Executive Restaurant Critic for The San Francisco Chronicle, wrote that he'd "long remember" the "cool vichyssoise soup with a knob of crab in the center" and the "custard- like brain croquettes" he had at Evangeline.
You can use OpenTable to make a reservation for Evangeline online.
