Bard provides espresso drinks, a series of
custom-made single origin drip coffee at their 'brew bar' and for
those of you in a rush they make volumes of their french press
house coffee in advance. Boston Magazine that the cappuccino
at Bard is "arguably the best this side of
Milan."
Coffee Review has rated all of Bard's coffees at 90 or
above including an outstanding 95 points for their
Costa Rica Micro Lot "Pepe" Honey Processed. The reviewers
described the Costa Rican as "Beautifully structured coffee: rich,
tart, wine-toned acidity and syrupy mouthfeel. Ripe lemon, table
grape and vanilla-toned nut are expressed with great depth and
resonance in aroma and cup. Balanced finish."
Bard hosts monthly latte art throwdowns among
baristas in the Portland area. The event raises money for Coffee
Kids and build community among the coffee
community.
The wi-fi is free, the space is comfortable and
the baristas are friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. My
regular order is for a breve cappuccino.
