Bar Lola, run by Guy and Stella Hernandez,
is located in Portland's East End. The out of the way location
means that Bar Lola is frequently overlooked when people are
listing off the best restaurants in Portland. That's a real
shame. Without a doubt the excellent food and friendly
professional service fair very well when compared to the better
known establishments in the city. It's one of my favorite
restaurants in Portland.
The small plate menuconsists of five sections:
small, medium, salad, large and sweet. The smaller portions allow
you to experiment and enjoy a wide range of dishes in a single
night. And since Chef Hernandez changes the menu every six weeks
there's also something new to try.
In addition to the excellent food, Bar Lola also
has the distinction of having the best cup of coffee available at
any of the city's restaurants.
