Bar Lola, run by Guy and Stella Hernandez, is
located in Portland's East End. The out of the way location means
that Bar Lola is frequently overlooked when people are listing off
the best restaurants in Portland. That's a real shame. Without a
doubt the food and friendly service are a match for some of the
more well known establishments in the city.
The tapas-style
menu consists of five sections: small, medium,
salad, large and sweet. The smaller portions allow you to
experiment and enjoy a wide range of dishes in a single night. And
since Guy changes the menu every six weeks there's also something
new to try.
The standout dish from my last visit was the
braised lamb with white beans and peas.
